A slow morning filled with coffee and sleepy eyes led into a split trip. S and I ventured by ourselves to walk to Vernazza in what turned out to be a blisteringly hot day. The trail was crowded, with some of the most unsuitably dressed folk. When we got to Vernazza, we were soaked with sweat and the village was throbbing with other tourists. We spent some time in the madness then took the train to Monterosso (more madness) and then Manarola (much quieter) for some quick perusing in case the shops are closed on Sundays.
We hooked up with D,B and Mel at the house for a night-in with pasta, pesto, wine and shenanigans (and no, that's not a Scottish dish).
