going home

after the best nights sleep any of us could ever wish for i awoke at 4:00am to the sound of D snorrring, yeah, it wasn't me, it was the cob gobbler. I haven't heard someone that loud in years. SOB!

So knowing i would be remaining awake i got ready and drove to Zurich to catch my flight home, it may be the only area of zurich not under construction.

The trip has been a great one, just long enough to really enjoy the places and company and short enough to ensure i didn't feel like i was wasting time. The entire country is insanely beautiful, its the very start of fall and the place is as green and lush as spring time in the Uintas.

Yesterday was our adventure sport day, 50 meter repelling into a mountain canyon, followed by two hours of jumping from cliffs into the river below, being taunted and in my and B's case thrown around by our "guides". Mel kicked ass actually being the first one to repel the wall and smiling instead of screaming as we had all predicted. D shivered like a wet dog, B got the wind knocked out of him by Toby's over enthusiastic luggage throwing demonstration (we were the luggage) and I got dropped the last ten feet of my repel (toby was also controlling this one) and i think it was on purpose.

Hopefully the "flu crew girls" follow our advice and hit this trip.

Interlaken is great, Sara and Karen from Luzerne would have guided us wrong. Other than Zurich, this country has been far and away better than i thought it would be.

  1. 2 of us took your advice and went canyoning. Julia and I loved it! Toby was our favorite - we totally bonded with him...he might even meet up with us tonight for some left over spagetti dinner - don't worry though, no one can ever replace the "shithorn" crew...we miss you guys already!!
