We jettisoned early from our Elban hotel making the insanely twisty journey back to the ferry port in Portoferraio. A couple of hours later we got to Pisa, dropped off the rental car and got on a train to La Spezia. After getting a room at Hotel Mary, smack opposite the station we set out to check out the town but ended up (on a whim) hopping a bus to Portovenere with a talkative German with a bag full o' worms (for fishing). Stacy and i wandered through this charming little town where they have a neat shop for all things olive oil! We got some grub and got the late bus back. Sometimes things go easier than expected...
And now we're off to Corniglia to meet the wild bunch!
