We all hung out together today. We walked to Manarola in the baking heat and took some time to chill in Manarola's bay where D somehow persuaded me to lurch off a 20 ft cliff into the water. I ate a local specialty- farinata de ceci con pesto (a chickpea flour type pizza with pesto)...yummy! After some more touring we had a late picnic at Corniglia's cove, we dodged purple jellyfish and drank more wine...
We snarfed the leftovers from the other night and called it a day. Sometime in the night we were awoken by a tremendous thunderstorm the likes of which I have not seen in a long time, huge lightning bolts, sheets of blinding light and buckets of rain. Nothing like scampering to bring wet clothes in from the clothesline while standing on a metal lined balcony/doorway. All in all a terrific sight!
