B's Dry Run #1 results, list and thoughts

Here are the results from my first dry run. I have put the list of items I plan on taking on this trip after the pics.
This is the pic of the items all out on the bed.

This is the bag containing the majority of the clothing items all packed up. I think it will be allowed as carry-on since the total dimensions are 45", just what Delta says it should be. To be stored in the overhead compartment. I have seen people carry on bigger shit than this, so I should be fine.

This is my personal carry-on item that goes under the seat, containing books, magazine, iphone, snacks, etc. I plan on using this for the majority of the trip for hikes, day excursions, and everything in between. Its comfortable and the side straps can be tightened to compress the larger compartments.

So my initial thoughts = its key to do a bit of research before hand. Lots of dark clothing but not a lot of items cause you always buy stuff over there, and layering options. The biggest questions come with the jacket. Do you get a larger one, or rely on using layers? I will be taking a snowboard jacket that has a removeable fleece liner. When apart, they are light and resourceful. When zipped together its the warmest jacket I own.

Here is the list of items I will take. Most of it I found on various websites, but the overall theme is pack light, utilize layer options, and minimal baggage. Trying the next dry run in about a week after I pick up a few missing items from the Target:
